Learn more advanced concepts in civics, economics, and geography within the context of United States history, and develop intellectual skills required for responsible citizenship.
7th graders will learn about:

American history since 1865

Understanding the Constitution, branches of government, and civic responsibility
8th graders will learn to:
Constitutions of Virginia and the United States

This class is for rising high school seniors (Grade 12) who are starting to brainstorm and write their college essays and supplementals.
This bootcamp is designed to be a focused, intensive writing workshop for a small group of rising seniors to pick their essay topics and write their first drafts of all their college essays, including supplementals. I will introduce the college application personal narrative essay to students and work with them to write compelling and authentic college essays.
Support will include:
Understanding what admissions officers are looking for
Brainstorming meaningful topics and personal growth themes
Structuring a powerful personal narrative and writing in the student’s unique voice
Coming up with an effective hook
Drafting and revisions
Detailed feedback from an experienced tutor and former admissions interviewer
Two one-on-one mentoring sessions
Writing the Common App essay, the University of California personal insight questions, and college-specific supplementals
